They’re different right? Well, sort of…

(Edited 25th March 2024)

Thank you to all who have renewed your VSOC membership so far whether online (over 360 to date), or by post.

Many of you will have had emails from (and many more will soon get your own) about your current membership being changed to an Annual Membership. This is good. But please do look in your Junk or Spam folders as there are extra instructions in there.

The club website is like any other website. To use it to its fullest potential you need to use your personal account which has been created for you. I have initially used strong passwords to protect your account, so you will need to reset your password here: Reset my Password. Then Login Here.
Please note that the reset link is only valid for 24 hours. You will have to request another reset link after this time.

I have also enabled an auto login link facility which you can request from me if you really are struggling to login. Just email saying you’d like this link created for you.

Or you can simply login with the email address that was previously given to the club secretary and a password. You don’t need to create a strong password as I have now allowed weak passwords to be used. However, there are websites to help you to create strong passwords:

I would also suggest using a password manager. Here’s one:

The ones supplied by Microsoft and Google are also excellent and available in your browser. There are other options available for Free and Paid For – you can read about them here if you wish to:

This is not a change to your membership, rather a change to the way we collect your membership details and how we ask new members to join our great club. For many years now, we have been able to join online using a standard form which has served us well, but it’s time to move forward from spreadsheets and actually have something useful and easy to operate.

We now have a very popular and widely used system from Paid Memberships Pro. All your information is the same and secure, but you will no longer have to enter your details unless you want to change something (for example, your contact details or your bike).

The great thing about this new system is you can now renew using your Credit or Debit card, PayPal, Cheque or Bank Transfer.

You don’t have to pay online if you don’t want to. Just login and renew with the new form then send a cheque to Fran, our membership secretary or pay by Bank Transfer to the new club account. All payment details and instructions are at the end of the form.

You will also discover that you can print your Membership Card from your own account page – how cool is that? You can even store it on your phone and show it at a rally entrance instead of fiddling in your wallet. More features will be coming soon – such as reading Clatter online (for members only) and we will be restricting some pages to members only too.

And don’t worry if you ever get locked out because you used the wrong password, username or email address. It’s just for 5 minutes and you can try again. If I’m at my computer and I see it’s happened to you, I can react much more quickly. But I do have a daytime job you know.

Do let me know if you want to find out more about these changes, simply email me or reply to your club notification email

Many thanks for your understanding.

Kind regards,
Nick Lappage – VSOC Web Developer
