      My xv500 suddenly stopped working. No more power to the starter relay control. Still power to the dashboard lighting. Green neutral light and red oil light do not burn. Fuses are OK. Is there perhaps another relay in between? Can anyone provide a clear electrical diagram or advice?

      Might be a failing electrical connection in the starter switch or anywhere along the route to the starter motor. I once had a 700 that required me rapidly clicking the starter switch several times in succession before it kicked over.
