Popham Mega Bike Meet

Held at Popham Airfield on the A303 this is ideally placed for many centres in the south. Last year over 30 bikes from 5 centres attended.

This year I have booked a space for 40 bikes and we will be hosting a national club stand based on a line up of all the models from 1981 to present day. The club marquee will be there with all of our history told in photographs. There will be a hospitality area with seating, tea, coffee and CAKE. If you would like to join us please contact your local events officer who will be organising meet up points and will have further information nearer the time.

The airfield is “biker friendly” and this largely due to the fact that the airfield manager is a lifelong motorcyclist and encourages bikers to visit the airfield. On the Fly-In weekends – generally the second Sunday of each month – several bike clubs (including the Ducati Sporting Club (see also http://www.snellmotorcycles.com) and the Suzuki SV Club) meet at the airfield for a cuppa and chat and in August, the Bike Mega-meet and Jumble is one of the motorcycle Meets of the Year. Any bike clubs wishing to start or finish a ride at Popham, contact Dick at the airfield. If you do meet at the airfield, please no wheelies or burnouts and please ride slowly right down to the clubroom where you will be made most welcome.
